Raising the Bar: CWT and iJET Strengthen Partnership to Help Companies Better Protect Business Travellers
Providing Companies with Enhanced Solutions to Better Meet Duty of Care Responsibilities
AMSTERDAM, March 13 2012 – Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) today announced it has expanded its safety and security offering to help companies better protect their business travellers, and has strengthened its partnership with iJET International, a leading provider of global intelligence and operational risk management.
Developed to manage the complex and changing requirements of corporate duty of care, CWT Safety & Security helps companies manage their responsibilities to travelling employees and focus on the essential aspects of traveller safety. Using a custom CWT version of iJET’s best-in-class tracking technology, CWT Safety & Security provides a comprehensive global service giving every CWT customer the ability to locate travellers worldwide.
Additional service packages are available to reflect customers’ needs and budgets, with specific solutions designed for small to mid-size organisations, making travel risk management accessible to all companies, whatever their size, budget, industry or travel safety constraints. These packages include options such as messaging and response capabilities, asset and expatriate management, pre-trip training and situational monitoring. Personal security services, travel insurance and evacuation coverage and expanded mobile services will be introduced later in 2012.
“Whether it’s a natural disaster, a geopolitical incident, an everyday accident or simply an interrupted travel schedule, we can help our clients avoid and handle disruptive situations,” said Andrew Winterton, CWT President Suppliers, Products and Technology. “We see safety and security as so fundamental to managed travel that, along with our partner iJET, we have put together the most comprehensive solution available today, to ensure that our customers are equipped with the best possible levels of traveller protection.“
CWT’s offerings are designed to support travellers, travel managers and security managers throughout the trip lifecycle from booking right through to a safe return home by:
•
Anticipating disruptions to travel, assessing risks, and offering training in an
effort to avoid problems and unnecessary costs
•
Locating travellers quickly when necessary for any reason
•
Communicating with travellers via multiple means: email, SMS and voice messaging.
•
Assisting travellers in need with alternative travel plans or evacuations for
varying purposes: medical, geopolitical and natural disaster.
“Multi-national organisations of all sizes are expanding their global footprints, exposing business travellers to an increasingly diverse set of threats and disturbances,” said Stephen Hoffman, CEO of iJET. “In partnering with CWT we are helping companies extend their proactive safety and security services and providing them with the important ability to anticipate and avoid potential danger.”
In today’s environment, most companies are aware that a trip is planned to a potentially unsafe destination, only when ticketing has taken place. iJET’s 24/7 intelligence coupled with instant access to CWT’s pre-ticket data will give companies the possibility to take a proactive approach to traveller safety. As soon as travellers plan and book a trip, travel managers will have real-time knowledge of their potential locations along with early warning into possible threats or disruptions at the destination location. Travellers and employers alike can then make informed decisions about whether and when to travel. This approach allows travel managers to better assess risk, offer pre-trip training if necessary and even proactively message travellers with critical destination-specific information, such as health and security warnings, before ticketing. CWT has not only joined forces with iJET on this end to end offering, but has also enhanced its own market leading proprietary messaging product, CWT Program Messenger Pro, as a complementary component of the CWT Safety & Security offering.
