CWT Meetings & Events Director Appointed to Eventia Board
LONDON, June 17, 2011 — Pauline Houston, CWT Meetings & Events and hotel programme director, UK & Ireland, was appointed to the Eventia board of directors during the trade body’s annual general meeting in London last week.
Houston is the only global travel management company representative on the 15-person board, joining five other newly-elected members from both agency and supplier sectors. Houston brings to the board the resources and relationships of Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) as well as research and best practices from its M&E teams from around the world.
Commenting on her appointment, Houston said, “I am excited to join this group of leaders who are continuing to drive the ever-increasing profile of M&E within the industry and give it a united voice.”
Houston is responsible for the direction, management and profitability of the CWT Meetings & Events division in the UK & Ireland, while also playing an instrumental part in its global leadership team. She has been with CWT since 2009 and has 20 years experience within the business travel industry holding positions with British Airways, Thistle Hotels and De Vere Hotels.
