CWT Earns Double Victory at 2013 EyeForTravel Mobile Innovation Awards
CWT recognised for its commitment to delivering the perfect trip to business travellers
AMSTERDAM, March 26 2013 – Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) was recognised with two awards at this year’s EyeForTravel Mobile Innovation Awards event held in San Francisco on March 18, 2013.
WorldMate, CWT's mobile subsidiary, won EyeForTravel’s ‘Best Mobile App’ award for the second consecutive year and CWT earned the award for ‘Best Mobile Strategy,’ a category that recognises those companies that have excelled in the way that they have planned and integrated a cross-platform mobile offering.
‘Investing in mobile services for our customers is part of our commitment to delivering the perfect trip, as we aim to provide travellers with personalised and relevant information through multiple channels,’ commented Douglas Anderson, CWT president and chief executive officer.
CWT To Go powered by WorldMate will be available to CWT travellers in the coming months and will include services such as itinerary management for trips booked via CWT or through other channels, real-time flight updates and, later this year, mobile booking.
'WorldMate is changing the way people travel, providing the ultimate mobile experience and an efficient solution for managing all aspects of travel’, commented Ian Berman, vice president business development at WorldMate. ‘We are thrilled that our app continues to be recognised as the number one app for business travellers, and as we transition CWT To Go over to the WorldMate platform, we are excited about bringing additional, industry-first services to CWT’s clients’.
