What was the project?
To trim the fat – cost-control had always been a big priority for CWT’s long-standing customer, Ensco.
CWT programme manager Angela Singh, together with Mark Lovick and Joanne Gormley from Ensco’s travel team, wanted to take advantage of advance bookings and maintain a careful compliance policy. To counter any resistance to the policy, they worked hard to build relationships between the Ensco travel bookers and CWT travel consultants, inviting them over for a cuppa at the CWT offices in Aberdeen and arranging a Christmas get together for the two teams.
What did working together achieve?
One of the lowest missed-savings percentages CWT has ever seen, at just 0.41%. As a result of CWT’s missed-saving reports and the dedication of Ensco’s travel team, they now set the benchmark among CWT’s customers. A few highlights of the project...
• CWT identified potential savings of £23,000 for the customer by increasing the booking deadline for regular journeys.
• Ensco entrusted their senior VIP travel bookings to CWT, which required a more corporate style of travel booking than their typical energy industry bookings.
• Advance booking opportunities and CWT’s global buying power enabled Ensco to benefit from better deals.
“CWT has enjoyed a successful business relationship with Ensco for over nine years now, and I believe the relationship continues to go from strength to strength”
Angela Singh, CWT programme manager
